Wirksworth Colts Albion U12s

End of season 2009/10
End of season 2009/10

Managed by Paul Carr & Gisela Smith Vidal since 2006, the Albion have formed a tight knit bond, playing with great team spirit and a times a great panache, we've enjoyed our first season playing at 11 a-side finished a comfortable mid-table in the second division.

Our principles are football for all - if you want to play, you will - regardless of skills or experience. Training on Wednesday evenings on the large astro pitch from 6:30-7:30pm, we have a squad of 16 for the new season.

William Brough: our Goalkeeper supreme who has kept us in so many matches thanks to his lightning reactions and bravery.

Stuart Dinsdale: The Italian sweeper who's reading of the game is second to none.

Harry Foster: Versatile and enthusiastic, Harry brings 100% to every game whether deployed at right back or in midfield and has the best smile in the squad. He also climbs mountains!

Oliver Trussell: A rock in central defence, Oliver commands respect for his positional play, discipline and timed tackling.

Billy Morley: Driven. A single word which encapsulates his play. Skilfull on the ball, aggressive in the tackle, Billy also has amazing power and has scored some truly memorable free kicks as well as many assists. He's also been given the Captain's Armband for this season as a recognition of his outstanding leadership and team support.

Jack Dunn: No nonsense right back who's stamped his authority on the position this season. Went three games on the trot without making a single mistake.

Kyle Holmes: Speedy left or right sided midflieder who has thrilled us with his dynamic attacking play.

Cameron Orr: The yin to Kyle's yang, Cameron brings pace and skill to the right hand side of midfield scoring some great goals as well as being versatile enough to play right back when called upon.

James Simmons: As an Arsenal fan, Mr Wenger would be very pleased to see his style of football adopted so well. Mixing simple possessional play with sublime skills and trickery, James plays on the left or in support up front.

Liam Smith Vidal: The midfield dynamo who's through tackling and desire (not to mention his hair) can convince you Puyol is on the pitch. Box to box running for the whole match and has added some fine goals to his repetoir.

Dan Bolwer: Dan has everything - well almost... Commanding the middle of the park, he mixes short, inceptive passes with long, cross field play and some dynamic, powerful bursts into the box. Scored some great individual goals and our first headed goal ever...

Thomas Davison: Midfield powerhouse. Keeps it simple and plays some beautiful one-twos, Thomas is always up for the challenge and is a fantastic and committed player and trainer.

Joseph Bednall: Our sprightly forward who partners Gabriel. Always adds something to every game with deft touches and an eye for the simple one-twos and is an all round sportsman!

Gabriel Carr: Our mini Torres - calm in front of gaol and with a great turn of pace. Unselfish in the build up linking well with the midfield, Gabriel bagged over 20 goals last season.

Harry Markwell: New for this season, Harry has slotted in seamlessly into the centre of defence and has already shown in friendlies and in training a calm, measured assurance and excellent decision making.

Cameron Williams: Our latest addition to the squad, Cameron has shown great versatility playing on the left or in the centre, with some neat touches, an eye for a good ball and great determination, we have high hopes he'll prove one of our star players this season.
